Christmas Services and Events

Saturday 9th December:     “The Big Family Nativity” 10:30-12:30 at Christ Church, 68 Britwell Crescent

    For children and their families; Christmas crafts, stories, carols and fun!

Thursday 14th December:   “Cake decorating for grown ups” 8:00pm-9:30pm at Holyrood Evangelical Church

    Bring along your Christmas cake, or cupcakes provided. Cost £2, all icing and decorations provided

Sunday 17th December:       11:00am: Morning Service, the Sunday Club will present a short nativity

    3:00pm: Baby & Toddler Nativity, A short service for all the family, Babies and toddlers can come dressed as a character from the nativity.

    6:30pm: Christmas Carol Service

Sunday 24th December:      11:00am: Christmas Family Service

    6:30pm: Last Minute Carols

Christmas Day:                      11:00am: Christmas Day Service

Sunday 31st December:       11:00am: Service for the New Year

   No evening service

Next Sunday, 1st October, it will be 2 years since we began our new mission as Holyrood Evangelical Church.

At our Morning Service we will gather for a special service of thanksgiving to God for all of his goodness to us in providing us with our new church home. Martin Allen will be our guest preacher.

At our Evening Service we will have a service of ordination so Euan Dodds, our Outreach Coordinator, is ordained to the ministry of word and sacrament and becomes our Associate Minister.  Bob Fyall will be our guest preacher.


Update: 12th July 2017

As part of the celebrations for our moving into our building in Montgomery Street, we will be taking part in Doors Open Day on Saturday 23rd September 2017 from 10.00 to 16.00.

Doors Open Day is organised by the Cockburn Association who can be found at www.cockburnassociation.org.uk

It is part of European Heritage Days, where building owners across Europe open their doors and give free public access.

Volunteers will be on hand to give information on the history and architecture of the building. There will be information boards, leaflets and refreshments, children’s activities in the hall and members of the music group will play periodically throughout the day.

To make way for building work our Sunday Services on 23rd & 30th July & 6th August will be held at:

The Faith Mission Convention Centre, 548 Gilmerton Road
Gilmerton, EH17 7JD.

Locations for mid-week meetings to be confirmed.

Note we will be in Montgomery St as usual on 16th July as work is starting later than previously advertised.

On Saturday 17th June we have our annual Congregational Outing and BBQ at the Newlands Centre. More details to follow.

There will be no evening service on Sunday 5th March as we will be joining with the other member churches of the East of Scotland Gospel Partnership for a united service at Charlotte Chapel – 7pm.

14th February 2017

We’re planning to run the Life Explored Course for 7 weeks from Monday 20th February.
Running for 7 weeks from Monday 20th February to Monday 3rd April.

12.00-1.30pm with lunch and creche or 7.30-9.00pm with deserts both at 121 Montgomery Street. (see venue details)
